The Department of Chemistry at Yonsei University is one of the top chemistry departments in Korea, with twenty professors and thirteen emeritus/retired professors. Our research interests include traditional chemistry (analytical, inorganic, organic, physical, and polymer chemistry) as well as the newly emerging fields of nanochemistry, biochemistry, chemical biology, and environmental chemistry.
The Department of Chemistry is currently home to more than 280 undergraduate and 140 graduate students. By the time the department celebrates its 106th anniversary this year, it has graduated more than 2,500 bachelors, 1,100 masters, and more than 200 PhDs, all of whom are playing pivotal roles in universities, research institutes, and leading companies.
